These small, easily hidden transmitting devices are illegal to possess or sell under Title 18, United States Code Section 2512, and their use also violates the law in many states and countries.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

• Listing cancellation

• Limits on account privileges

• Account suspension

• Forfeit of NWMarketplace fees on cancelled listings

Examples of electronic surveillance equipment include:

• telephone "bugs"

• "wiretap" devices

• "miniature transmitters"

• "surveillance microphones"

Several states (including California) prohibit the use of photographic devices to surreptitiously view or record individuals for sexual purposes. Listings that promote such activity are not permitted on NWMarketplace.
